Basil Essential Oil

Basil essential oil has a wide range of uses as it can be stimulating, clarifying or calming. This oil is often used in homemade cleaners because of its ability to eliminate odor-causing bacteria. In addition, basil essential oil is used as an insect repellent and can provide relief for headaches or digestive discomfort. Basil essential oil comes from India and is extracted from the leaves and flowers of the Ocimum basilicum plant, where the oil is expelled by steam distillation and the excess water is decanted and dried.
