Merrow Associates Dining Table with Lazy Susan (1960)

A beautiful 1960s dining table designed by Richard Young and handcrafted in England by Merrow Associates, one of the most distinctive British furniture makers of the period. The table is beautifully crafted in warm, richly grained teak and features a spinning teak Lazy Susan at the centre, adding both character and practicality to the design. The combination of natural teak with the sculptural steel legs is particularly striking and reflects the industrial yet elegant aesthetic that became a signature of Richard Young’s work for Merrow Associates. The bold steel base gives the table a wonderfully architectural presence, while the warmth of the teak softens its appearance, creating a sophisticated balance between industrial materials and natural wood. A highly versatile piece, it would make a striking centrepiece in both a mid-century and contemporary dining interior. The table has been completely professionally restored and is now in excellent condition. For complete transparency, there is a very small 1 cm repair to the teak tabletop, where a tiny section was replaced following previous damage. The repair has been carefully and sympathetically carried out and is discreet, with no impact on the beauty, structural integrity or everyday use of the table.
