Grieving Girl Antique Art Nouveau Bookends

I chose these outstanding antique art nouveau bookends for their quality and because the pose reminds me of Victorian mourning lithographs and depictions of Mary Magdalene. They are exquisite art objects in their own right and would make gorgeous miniature sculptures in your home or garden. They are so heavy and substantial that they are very functional as bookends, though, especially if you have large and heavy books. They are made in two pieces: The brick like bottoms are painted cast iron and the figures were screwed on separately. The molds are very finely detailed- they display beautifully from every angle. Some wear to the bronze paint on both figures, as shown.
