Laffa Lamp Shade

The design was created with the lampshade’s conical frame in mind, allowing the kilim pattern to follow and wrap around its structure rather than simply being placed onto it. Subtle, gently wavering lines move with the shape of the cone, creating a sense of continuous movement as the pattern travels around the form. The result is a meeting of textile, structure, and movement; where the kilim is shaped by the object, and the object becomes part of the design itself. "Laffa" takes its name from the Arabic word "لفّة", referring to a wrap, turn, or winding movement; reflecting the way the pattern gently turns around the form.
