Handmade Green & Dull Gold Stripe Keralan Cotton Lampshade

These gathered lampshades are handmade from cotton handwoven in Kerala, a fabric valued for its natural texture and understated elegance. The clean white base is finished with dull gold and soft green stripes around the lower edge, creating a refined detail that adds interest without overpowering the design. The cotton used for these shades comes from handloom workshops in northern Kerala, near Kannur - a region renowned for its long-standing weaving traditions. Many of these small workshops are now under increasing pressure from mechanised power loom production, so each lampshade helps support the continuation of this important craft. Available in 40cm, the shade works particularly well on medium to larger lamp bases where its subtle detailing can be fully appreciated. It is shown here with the Manali Aqua Curly Table Lamp, whose sculptural form and colour provide a striking contrast to the soft tones of the woven cotton.
