The 21TL414TMA83T-01 is a 4" x 1-1/4" high-temp glass-filled nylon total lock caster rated 350 lb per caster and good to 550°F, on a 2-3/8" x 3-5/8" top plate. It is built for equipment that rolls into heat and back out again: rack ovens, proof boxes, pan and bakery racks, dish and tray carts, heat tunnels, and powder coat cure carts. Overall height is 5-1/8" and swivel radius is 3-7/32".Total lock is the reason to pick this oneTotal lock means one pedal press stops the wheel from rolling and stops the rig from swiveling, at the same time. Most brakes on light and medium duty casters are side locks or top locks that only clamp the tread. The rig underneath still rotates, so a loaded rack parked on a slight grade slowly pivots and creeps, usually toward the oven door or the aisle. If your operators are loading a rack that is already parked, total lock is the spec that matters more than another 50 lb of capacity.Which plate you getStandard is the 2-3/8" x 3-5/8" plate with a 1-3/4" x 2-7/8" to 3" bolt hole pattern and 5/16" bolts. That is what ships unless you choose otherwise, and it is order code 21TL414TMA83T-01.The 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" plate is an option, not an upgrade and not included. Select it from the plate dropdown if your rack frame is already drilled for it. Its holes are slotted, 1-3/4" to 2-3/8" x 3" to 3-3/8", and it takes 3/8" bolts. That configuration is order code 21TL414TMA83T-02. Both plates cost the same. Mounting hardware is not included with either one. See the second and third photos for the dimensioned drawings.Sizing it correctly Design on three casters, not four. Floors are never flat and a four-caster cart routinely puts most of its load on three. Four of these gives a 1,050 lb working design load, not 1,400 lb. The 350 lb rating is the rig, not the wheel. The wheel alone is rated 700 lb. If you need more capacity at this wheel size and heat range, the limit you have to solve is the rig, so move up a series rather than changing wheel material. Check your duty cycle against the top of the range. Glass-filled nylon ratings in this class are normally published as a peak figure for equipment that cycles in and out of heat. If your process holds near the top of the range continuously instead of cycling, call before you spec it. Rigid tread transmits shock. At 85 Shore D this wheel rolls with very low effort on smooth floors and does not absorb impact. On broken concrete, floor drains, or thresholds, expect noise and shock loading through the frame. Two total locks per cart is usually enough. Two total lock and two plain swivel is the common bakery rack build, and it steers better than four locking casters. Replacing an existing casterMeasure three things off the old caster before you order: the plate rectangle, the bolt hole centers, and the overall height from floor to the top of the plate. Overall height on this caster is 5-1/8". If the rack was originally built with a 5" or 5-1/8" caster you can swap straight across. If you are mixing sizes on the same rack, replace all four so the deck stays level. Send us the old part number or a photo with the plate measured and we will confirm fit before you buy.Related Bakery and high-temperature casters Total lock casters on the 2-3/8" x 3-5/8" plate Oven rack casters, 3" through 5" wheels High-temperature wheels only Same wheel on a 7/16" grip ring stem All industrial casters Buying 50 or more?
