The Stag

The Stag head A couple of years ago someone asked me ‘could you make a Stag head?’ Well, that was a challenge I could not resist! There were quite a few makes to get the pattern just how I wanted it, with fabric sampling for rigidity, antler shape, positioning and support, not forgetting the ears! I really enjoyed the challenge of creating this and still love making them! For this project you will need to provide: ♦ Main fabric, calico and fusible web: 90cm x 40cm, more if you have a very large check/pattern. ♦ Antlers: fabric and iron on fusing (light-medium-weight) 35cm x 64cm. ♦ 1 x hollow fibre pillow or equivalent. ♦ 2 x bamboo skewers. ♦ Tape 18cm x 2.5cm. ♦ 1 x ‘o’ ring for hanging the head. ♦ Cardboard to support the head. Approximate finished dimensions: 62cm high 30cm wide, 31cm deep. *** THIS IS AN ORNAMENTAL STAG HEAD, NOT A TOY ***
