Gil Santiago: Fox with Watermelon Tail Alebrije

This fox by Gil Santiago, son of renowned Arrazola carver Miguel Santiago, stretches into a playful pose, tall ears swirled in purple, snout tipped pink, whiskers curling out like little flourishes. Pale blue eye-spots dot the whole body, but the real surprise is the tail, a slice of watermelon standing in where fur should be.
