Design in Hand – From Language to Design
The exhibition “Design en main. Du langage à l’objet” [Design in Hand. From Language to Object] is built around six popular expressions related to the hand. Placed within the field of design, these expressions reveal an intimate relationship between language and form. Words and objects converse, whether they pertain to everyday use or iconic creations. Enhanced by essays from international authors, punctuated by comments from designers, explanatory notes, and rich iconography, this book, along with the materials it contains, can be held in hand before being shared. Edited by Laurence Mauderli, Alexandre Quoi, Joris Thomas. Contributions by Laurence Mauderli, Tim Ingold, Aziza Gril-Mariotte, Donna Loveday, Michele De Lucchi, Jasper Morrison, Ulysse Bouët, Studio Unfold, Lola Carrel, Joris Thomas.
