Taylor Apple Pear
The Taylor Apple Pear is a highly productive, disease-resistant Asian pear tree that produces crisp, apple-shaped fruit loved by both people and wildlife. Its dependable annual crops and reliable early-fall fruit drop make it an excellent choice for wildlife orchards, hunting properties, and homestead plantings. Well suited for USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 4-7, the Taylor Apple Pear is one of the most cold-hardy pear varieties available today. Here in central Pennsylvania, this pear ripens during September and pollinates well with my European-style pear varieties. The Taylor Apple Pear is grafted onto Betulaefolia pear roots, providing a strong, vigorous root system with excellent adaptability. This combination helps create a durable, long-lived tree that will reach a mature height of 20+ feet.
