Butnham 56 in Marbled Grey. 14Ct. Gold Nib
One of the larger Burnham pens, the No. 56 was made, in England, around 1950. The pen has been restored and tested and is in excellent working condition throughout. The unusual and very attractive blgrey marbled finish with black veins has an excellent surface with a very crisp and clear barrel imprint. The colour shows no fading and, unusually for a Burnham, the Gold plating to the clip and twin cap bands has held up very well. The cap is a screw fit, it tightens smoothly with one and three quarter turns. A new ink sac has been fitted and the lever filling system works well. The nib is 14 Ct Gold and carries the imprint: Burnham 14 Ct. Gold. Super Quality The 'Super Quality' designation is not seen very often. The nib delivers a smooth, medium line. The pen came to me unboxed, but it's condition is such that I have provided a new case for protection, transportation, and display. The 56 is one of the less common of the Burnham pens, a Marbled Grey in such remarkable codition is becoming highly collectable.
