A truly exceptional Rhodonite & Rhodochrosite tower from Peru — at 39cm tall and 4.4kg, this is a centrepiece piece in every sense.The surface is a warm, saturated rose-pink, threaded throughout with swirling white veins of calcite matrix and punctuated by sharp black manganese oxide dendrites. The patterning is dense and complex — no two areas of the tower look the same. The base is broad and stable at 8.2cm, tapering to a crisp 4cm point at the apex, with a high, even polish that brings out the full depth of colour across all four faces.Rhodonite is a manganese inosilicate mineral (MnSiO₃) that forms in metamorphic environments, often alongside rhodochrosite (MnCO₃), a manganese carbonate. The two minerals share a similar manganese-rich chemistry producing their characteristic pink-to-rose colouration. The black veining is manganese oxide, formed as the minerals oxidised over time.
