LINGUA FRANCA / noun / any common language systematically used for communication between groups of people who do not share a native language. LINGUA FRANCA is an idea that I was ruminating on for months. After drawing over 1,000 characters, this piece sat in my studio until I had the courage to make the first rip. Once I started there was no going back. Destruction became a part of its creation. I was left with 3 uneven pieces on my studio floor.
