Sonagi Drop of Gold Eyepatches

Last year, Etihad approached us with an intriguing question. They wanted to offer their First Class passengers something no airline had ever done before: in-flight eye patches. Could Sonagi help them formulate the perfect First Class eye patch? A cabin at altitude is one of the harshest environments skin encounters. The air is drier than most deserts, and it spends the whole flight quietly taking water out of whatever it touches. So we formulated accordingly: ceramides to hold the barrier, hyaluronic acid sealed under hydrogel, aloe and panthenol for skin that has been awake far too long. Two gleaming gold crescents that catch the light. For a year, they were only available in the First Class cabin. Now we are proud to finally launch them for everyone. Hyaluronic Acid We built the formula around hyaluronic acid, then wrapped it in hydrogel escape. On its own, a humectant will surrender its water to dry air. Sealed under two gold crescents, it can’t: it stays where you put it, and skin looks plumper and smoother when the patches come off. Aloe Cool against skin that has been dry, pressurised, and awake too long. Soothing, comforting, and immediate. Ceramides We used ceramides because dry air pulls moisture out of skin faster than anything on the ground, and the barrier around the eyes is the first thing to give. Panthenol Pro-vitamin B5 conditions and softens, taking the tightness out of skin. Saffron We chose saffron for the same reason we chose gold. It’s hand-harvested, weighed by the gram, and one of the most expensive things a formulator can put in a patch. An antioxidant-rich extract that lends skin a warm, rested luminosity.
