Handmade Carved Teacup by Minna Graham — Slate
These small, richly textured and faceted teacups are handmade by Minna Graham in her Daylesford studio. Each teacup has its own unique finish with subtle variance in shape, texture, and tone owing to Minna’s gas-fired kiln. The teacups sit atop a short raised foot and have a tall cylindrical profile. Each teacup features a hand carved, uniquely faceted exterior that has been finished in a rich charcoal to iron black glaze. The external glaze has a semi-matte lustre and a grainy surface that calls to mind weathered bluestone slate. The cups have a pleasant weight to them; and the hand carved edges and surface inclusions provide distinct textural interest. The teacup’s interior glaze ranges from icy blue to muted freshwater green, with vivid cerulean streaks and reduction spotting throughout. The inner base of the teacup displays a vitrified, superficial cracking pattern (known as 'crazing') that is texturally reminiscent of a frozen lake. The teacups are pictured alongside our Black Fairness Cup by Minna Graham. Each teacup can hold approximately 40ml of liquid. Please note: Each purchase is for a single teacup.
