The design of this scarf is inspired by Sue Wickison's original painting of a Tūī feeding among the vibrant flowers of New Zealand Flax, or Harakeke (Phormium tenax). Several harakeke plants grow at the front of Sue's garden, just below her studio. Throughout summer, their tall flower spikes become alive with the iridescent Tūī (Prosthemadera novaeseelandiae), a bird found only in New Zealand. With their distinctive song and lively, energetic nature, they dart from flower to flower, feeding on the abundant nectar and creating an unforgettable spectacle.
