Mindfullness of Medicine Bags with Rose Two Feathers September 20th 10:30am-1:30pm Description: This hands-on workshop explores the meaning and purpose of the personal medicine bag and the traditions behind its making. You'll learn the types of weaving and the different leathers used, how to create patterns, and how to work with glue and tools such as hole-punching chisels, leather lace, and sinew. Rose will guide you through sewing styles, adding embellishments, and finishing your bag with cord or lace so it can be worn. Along the way, she'll share the differences between animal hides, including their meanings and medicines, and the use of glass beads, along with adornments such as quill, claws, charms, or bone. This 3-hour workshop is taught from a First Nation perspective, with respect for the cultural teachings woven throughout. We welcome you to come with an open mind, a willingness to learn, and a spirit of cultural sharing. All materials will be provided. Bio: Rose Two Feathers is a Native American renaissance artist, medicine woman, and Keeper of the Rock for her Mayan Clan. Her lineages are Kickapoo (Mescalero Apache), Aztec, Mayan, Spanish, and Italian. Rose has been walking on the red path and as a Keeper of the Rock for 40 years. She began her metaphysical practice immediately after attending a class in Houston, her home town. Her acknowledgement of being a Keeper of the Rock occurred in 2005 at a healers conference and community offering. She has taught workshops In Central and South Texas, California, Michigan, and on the Zoom portal on the topics of Stone & Crystal Healing, Medicine bags, dreamcatchers, wire wrapping, later including feather medicine, gourd rattles and the Native American Astrology Medicine Wheel. She has also sold her artwork worldwide and in various states across the US. She is also a photographer, videographer, artist, and published poet, currently residing in Oregon as an elder in residence at Bohio Cibanani. Cancelation Policy: If you need to cancel due to any reason, Wildling needs two full weeks before the class start date for you to receive a credit towards another class.
