Château Angludet 2022
Château Angludet has belonged to the Sichel family since 1961 and is now run by Benjamin Sichel. The 30 hectares of vines are planted in one contiguous block, farmed biodynamically for over 20 years. The vineyard is planted with 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 13% Petit Verdot, producing around 100,000 bottles a year. Ben Sichel has moved towards a regenerative and sustainable approach in the vineyard and gentler élevage in the cellar The 2022 Angludet is charming, pretty and perfumed, with plenty of plush red fruit and some Provençal herb notes on the nose. The palate is soft and rounded, with crunchy black cherry fruit and some tasteful, almost spicy oak. Abundant acidity and freshness drive the wine and wrap the whole palate together. The tannins are nicely balanced. Drink 2027 - 2042. Blend: 47% Merlot; 40% Cabernet Sauvignon; 13% Petit Verdot. 93 Points - William Kelley, Wine Advocate The 2022 D'Angludet is one of the wines that do actually appear to merit such hyperbole. Offering up deep aromas of inky cassis, plums, pencil lead and subtle spices, it's medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with a broad attack, ripe acids and a supple, seamless profile, concluding with an expansive finish.
