Thistle

When living in Nova Scotia, you know that 'New Scotland' has a tender spot for the classic thistle. When meadows are grazed, the prickly and sturdy plant survives the trampling of livestock, the salty sea air, and the pelting rains. I chose to finish this piece without the classic fuchsia tops and celebrated the shape and texture of the plant against a sky blue. Handpulled original print, 9x12 inches, series of 10, signed and numbered. Framing not included.
