This compactor was originally built in 2005 and has only completed 134 operating hours. The DD-14 double drum vibratory compactor offers high performance in an ergonomically styled compact package. This compactor is equipped with a fuel efficient, liquid-cooled Kubota 16.9hp (12.6kW) at 3000 rpm diesel engine. This reliable engine has standard glow plugs for excellent cold weather starting characteristics and high horsepower to weight ratios for superior operation in all conditions. The DD-14 has a large capacity 52-gallon (197 liters), rotationally molded, polyethylene water tank which provides extended intervals between refills. The variable water flow control and spring-loaded, self-adjusting, neoprene wipers distribute water evenly across each drum. The optional pressurised water system is equipped with hand-serviceable water nozzles through which water is filtered twice. In the automatic mode, water flow is activated only when the compactor is in motion to further extend refilling intervals.
