Printed in Samoa at the London Missionary Society Press - Malua TP, 23 pages (complete) Original boards with titles author and printing location. Some bumps to corners but generally very good condition. With contemporary inscription (in German): “Samoanische Fibel. Gedruckt in der Missionsdruckerei zu Malua-Ogulu von jungen Samoanern” “Samoan Primer. Printed in the mission printing house at Malua … by young Samoans." The format is similar to later editions with the first 21 pages containing the alphabet and various syllables containing these letters. Page 22 is short phrases and 23 contains numbers. A Later edition of 1916 (3rd edition) is recorded on worldcat (OCLC) in Auckland. However, this early 1909 ?1st edition is not recorded on worldcat (OCLC) and no copies seem to be described
