Swap your standard basket for a Normcore Step-Down Basket and unlock a different extraction style without rebuilding your setup.The tapered interior promotes a gentler, more forgiving flow profile that's especially friendly to lighter roasts and imperfect puck prep. Laser-perforated holes deliver repeatable water distribution for cleaner, more even shots.These baskets are deeper than typical baskets of their size and are therefore compatible with bottomless/naked portafilters only. Each kit includes the accessories you'll need for a complete workflow at the stepped-down size.Available sizes: 58mm to 49mm – for standard 58mm machines. 57.5mm to 49mm – fits Lelit 57mm portafilters (Anita, Diana, Anna). This size is offered in the CNC basket only. 54mm to 45.5mm – for 54mm machines like Breville / Sage.Reduced Flow = Low-Flow = 0.18mm Hole Diameter, 2475 holes Allows a coarser grind, easier to dial in, produces a thicker texture; better for medium/dark roasts, alternative extraction, experimentation.Standard Flow = High-Flow = 0.28mm Hole Diameter, 786 holes Requires a finer grind, flows faster, yields higher clarity; better for general use, light roasts, standard techniques. Tips: When switching 0.18 → 0.28, adjust the grind finer (usually 1–2 clicks). From 0.28 → 0.18, adjust coarser and monitor pressure/flow while fine-tuning the dose.Manufacturing: Choose Stamped Basket (standard) or CNC Basket, machined from a solid block of 304 stainless steel. Note: with the CNC basket, the dosing funnel will not stick magnetically, but it can still be placed on top to guide coffee grounds into the chamber.Compatibility Reminder: - Bottomless-only fit; not for spouted/pressurized portafilters - Check headspace with puck screen/spring; reduce dose if tight - Rinse puck screen & spring after use; dry the basket - Tamper Note: Use a tamper sized to match the stepped-down diameter (49mm for the 58mm and 57.5mm kits, 45.5mm for the 54mm kit).
