Scabiosa atropurpurea Salmon Queen
Common name: Pincushion Flower Untreated seed; packed by volume so seed quantity is approximate. Available in two pack sizes: Gardener packet 50 seeds; Grower packet 200 seeds. Hardy annual. DTM 90-100 Annual scabious is an excellent pollinator plant for the garden as well as beautiful and prolific cut flower crop. Available in a wide range of colours, they can be overwintered and sown in succession in spring for a continuous harvest. Salmon Queen blooms in a range of pale- to mid-pink shades. Can be grown in a tunnel or under glass. Sow Feb-May or Aug-Sept to overwinter for flowers the following year. Sowing temp 18-21°C. Cover sparingly as light aids germination which takes 10-14 days in optimum conditions. Place straight into water and move to a cool place; no special conditioning required. Vase life: 7-9 days
