SSI Advanced Specialty Diver Award A Recognition Of Your Progress, Experience And Commitment To Diving Please note: The SSI Advanced Specialty Diver Award is NOT the same as the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver certification. The SSI Advanced Specialty Diver Award is a recognition automatically awarded by SSI when you have achieved: ✅ Four different SSI Specialties ✅ One of those Specialties must be Deep Diving ✅ A minimum of 24 logged open water dives in the SSI App This award recognises divers who have developed their skills, expanded their knowledge, and committed to becoming more capable and confident underwater. How Do I Achieve The SSI Advanced Specialty Diver Award? There is no separate course to book and no additional certification dive. You simply continue your diving journey by completing SSI Specialties and logging your dives. A typical pathway may include Specialties such as: Deep Diving Dry Suit Diving Perfect Buoyancy Enriched Air Nitrox Navigation Wreck Diving Computer Diving Once you meet the SSI requirements, the award is automatically issued. Recommended SSI Advanced Specialty Diver Pathways Package 1 – Build Your Core Skills Includes: Dry Suit Diving OR Perfect Buoyancy or Navigation Deep Diving Enriched Air Nitrox Computer Diving Includes: 5 open water dives Classroom sessions 1 pool session Typically completed over: 2 open water days + theory sessions Package 2 – Explore More Diving Includes: Dry Suit Diving OR Perfect Buoyancy Navigation Wreck Diving Deep Diving Includes: 9 open water dives Typically completed over: 3 open water days Entry Requirements To begin working towards your SSI Advanced Specialty Diver Award: SSI Open Water Diver (or equivalent) Mask and snorkel Dive computer How Long Does It Take? The SSI Advanced Specialty Diver Award is achieved at your own pace.
