The Colossus of Rhodes Small Statue

The Colossus of Rhodes was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This magnificent sculpture was built on the island of Rhodes, Greece, standing at the entrance to the harbor. Constructed between 292 and 280 BC, the huge bronze statue of the Greek Titan god Helios was just under 100 feet tall. Built to celebrate victory over invaders, after only fifty-six years it was sadly demolished in an earthquake. This small polystone sculpture depicts the Titan god Helios in a spiked sun ray crown with his legs straddling the harbor entrance as he holds a torch in a raised hand. It has a metallic bronze finish with painted accents. Overall: 4” tall, 2-1/8" wide, 1-1/8" deep
