Tudor Black Bay 58 - 18ct Yellow Gold - Reference: 79018V – New & Unworn 2022

The Black Bay has become one of Tudor’s defining modern collections, taking inspiration from the dive watches the company produced during the 1950s and 1960s without simply recreating a particular historic reference. The Black Bay Fifty-Eight arrived in 2018, its name referencing 1958 – the year Tudor introduced reference 7924, the celebrated early Submariner nicknamed the “Big Crown”. The Fifty-Eight brought the Black Bay formula into a more traditionally proportioned 39mm case and quickly established itself as an important part of Tudor’s contemporary range. In 2021 Tudor took the Fifty-Eight in an altogether more luxurious direction with reference 79018V. Rather than the familiar stainless steel, the case was fashioned from solid 18ct yellow gold and paired with a rich green dial and matching bezel. Importantly, Tudor retained the purposeful dive-watch character of the Fifty-Eight rather than turning it into a conventional dress watch. Another notable feature was the exhibition case back – an unusual sight on a Tudor sports watch – allowing the manufacture movement to be viewed through sapphire crystal. What’s on Offer Here we have a Tudor Black Bay 58, reference 79018V, dated 23rd June 2022, presented in new, unworn and stickered condition. The solid 18ct yellow-gold case measures 39mm across and approximately 47.5mm lug-to-lug. It is paired beautifully with the green dial and matching green diving bezel, a combination which gives this particular Black Bay Fifty-Eight a very different character from its steel counterparts. The dial carries Tudor’s familiar snowflake hour hand alongside large luminous hour markers, while the gold-coloured detailing complements the case particularly well. A domed sapphire crystal completes the vintage-influenced appearance. Turn the watch over and the sapphire exhibition case back provides a view of Tudor’s MT5400 automatic manufacture calibre. The COSC-certified movement has 27 jewels and provides an impressive power reserve of approximately 70 hours. The watch is fitted to its original Tudor brown alligator strap with matching 18ct yellow-gold buckle. Also included is the additional green fabric strap with gold-coloured detailing shown in the photographs. Most importantly, this is a new and unworn, and completely stickered example, complete with its Tudor box and papers dated 23rd June 2022.
