The Arisaka Picatinny Rail Slider for Atlas Bipods (stock code Picatinny Rail Slider, UPC 850036188452) is a sliding 1913 Picatinny mount for no-clamp Atlas bipods. Instead of bolting the bipod to one fixed slot, it slides freely along the rail and locks wherever you want it with a push-button recoil lug that drops into the nearest cross slot. The point is speed of adjustment. On a long Picatinny forend the best bipod position changes with the position you are shooting from, and a slider lets you move it in a second without tools and without losing recoil retention, because the lug still takes the rearward load through a rail slot rather than through clamping friction. How It ComparesThis is the Picatinny answer. For a fixed Picatinny lever mount, see the American Defense ADM-170-S Picatinny lever mount. On ARCA-railed rifles you want the Area 419 ARCALOCK knob clamp or the Area 419 ARCALOCK QD lever clamp, and to cover both standards at once the Area 419 ARCALOCK Dual-Clamp with Picatinny or the Really Right Stuff BTC-Pro dual clamp. You will need an NC-bodied bipod such as the Atlas BT10-NC V8 or Atlas BT47-NC PSR Tall from the Atlas bipod range. The Arisaka Picatinny Rail Slider fits NC "No Clamp" Atlas bipods, which are supplied by B&T Industries without a mount so that the buyer can choose their own. What rail standard does the Arisaka Picatinny Rail Slider need? The Arisaka Picatinny Rail Slider fits a 1913 Picatinny rail. It is not an ARCA-Swiss clamp, so on an ARCA rail you would use an Area 419 ARCALOCK clamp or a dual ARCA and Picatinny clamp instead. How does the push-button recoil lug work? Pressing the button retracts a spring-loaded lug so the mount slides freely along the rail, and releasing it drops the lug into the nearest Picatinny cross slot, locking the bipod against movement under recoil. Can I move the bipod without tools? Yes. The Arisaka Picatinny Rail Slider is repositioned by pressing the button and sliding the mount, with no spanners or hex keys required. Why choose a slider over a fixed lever mount? A slider lets you change the bipod's position on the forend as the shooting position changes, whereas a fixed lever mount such as the American Defense ADM-170-S is quicker to remove entirely but sits in one place while fitted.
