7¼" Gauge Class 24 Diesel Hydraulic Locomotive

A 7¼" gauge bogie diesel hydraulic locomotive, styled after the Class 24 locomotives. Built around 1990, it has spent it's life until now on a private garden railway which held monthly open days. Single cylinder Kubota diesel engine, with hydraulic drive system to both bogies. The bogies are both welded steel plate construction, with axles running in standard industrial take up bearings. Bodywork is all steel but over scale, to give a large sit in locomotive. Chassis is welded steel channel and angle. A simple to drive and rugged locomotive that would be at home on a private, club or commercial railway. The overall size means it could be converted to 10¼" gauge.
