Nottingham Shine Night Walk

THE EVENT: Nottingham Shine Night Walk for Cancer Research UK A night-time walk to beat cancer – Shine Night Walk is your chance to light up your city’s streets. Participants will walk past Nottingham’s most iconic landmarks before ending with a finish line celebration. People of all abilities can take part and the 10k walk will take between 1.5 to 3 hours to complete. We will be there bringing the party spirit, lots of encouragement and smiles. DATE: Friday 11th September 2026 CALL TIME: 6.15pm – still needs to be confirmed PERFORMANCE STARTS: 7pm race starts so we will be on course ready and waiting. I won’t make you perform for longer than you can, we will judge it on the night, as with Race for Life we will be waiting for the race goers to come past before we start singing. If you would like to bring a camping chair to sit on as you can’t stand for long then please do, your comfort is key. PERFORMANCE DETAILS: Meet side of stage in the Old Market Square, we will gather and walk to our place on the course. We will not be singing for the whole of this event as it can take a while to go round the course as it is 10k and people are walking it. SONGS: Take On Me, Human, Kings Of Pop Medley, Reach Out I’ll Be There, Our House – then if needed and depending on who knows the following songs we can also sing ‘Never Gonna Not Dance Again’. Nottingham Express Transit operate a number of Tram services stopping at The Old Market Square next to the event site, Trams run every 7 – 15mins last Tram from Old Market Square 00.12am. UNIFORM: The Collaboration Choir uniform colour palette is: Navy, Teal & White CLOTHING: If you have a Collaboration Choir T-shirt please wear it with dark navy jeans or dark navy trousers. No leggings please. If you don’t then a white, navy or teal top of any kind is okay. White shirts are also fine! These can be in dark navy denim, plain navy or white. No black bottoms please. FOOTWEAR: Please wear plain navy shoes. Navy, white or silver trainers are also welcomed with matching plain socks. Feel free to wear sparkly trainers. Think comfortable chic! JEWELLERY & EXTRAS: Silver jewellery preferred — sparkle if you like! It’s an outdoor event without any holding / backstage area so please only bring what you can carry on your person. A bum bag or across the body bag is recommended.
