TASTING NOTE Rose florals, fresh red berries and cherries combine with mineral and earthy notes and North African spices, creating a complex aromatic lift. The palate shows flavours of fresh cherries and cranberries, combined with thyme, bergamot and generous spice. A lightness and brightness are maintained alongside fine tannin structure and lingering flavours. VINTAGE A very dry growing season led to the earliest start to vintage anyone can remember. Low winter rainfall was followed by ideal spring conditions, meaning that despite the dry season, fruit set was good and crop levels for many varieties were around average. Berry numbers were average to slightly above average, with smaller berry size leading to good concentration of flavour. Although harvest started early, conditions were relatively mild for much of vintage, apart from a four-day heatwave in mid-February. This caused little damage, and fruit ripened gradually, developing great flavour, ripe tannin profiles in the reds and good concentration. VINEYARD Sourced from Willunga 100's own estate vineyard, 'Blindspot', in the sub-region of Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale. 100% dry-grown bush vine Grenache is sourced from the “15 Acre Block”. This block is south-west facing, sits at 170m above sea level and was planted in 1968. The soils of the vineyard are deep Maslin sand over a base of ironstone and clay. WINEMAKING The fruit spent 14 days on skins, with 10% whole bunch and the remainder whole berry. It was gently pumped over to ensure optimum extraction whilst maintaining the delicate aromatics. The wine was basket pressed off skins before maturation and malolactic fermentation on lees in stainless steel. Vegan friendly. WINEMAKER Renae Hirsch 2025 Blind Spot Vineyard Grenache "The home vineyard, from two bush-vine blocks on the district’s typical sand over ironstone and clay, with vines planted between 1963 and ’69; whole-berry ferment, gently pumped over, 10 months in steel. The two Blewitt Springs wines are showing beautifully at this early stage, a little after bottling. Cherry scented, both marasca and Bing, blood plum, fresh deep-red rose, Levant spices, potpourri and musk. Like the other bottlings, there’s a savoury feel to this, those flavours high definition but not overt, tannins refined, acidity energetic and cooling. Exceptional." - Marcus Ellis Published 31 July 2026 2026 Sydney Royal Wine Show Best Grenache Trophy Best Small Producer Wine Trophy
