The Nizza DOCG Riserva typically exhibits a deep, ruby-red colour with garnet reflections that intensify with age, suggesting its richness and maturity. On the nose, this wine offers a complex bouquet of ripe red and black fruits, such as cherries, plums, and blackberries. These fruity notes are elegantly complemented by hints of spice, cocoa, and a touch of vanilla from the oak aging process. The first sip reveals a full-bodied and harmonious wine characterised by a vibrant acidity that is typical of Barbera. The flavour profile features layers of dark fruit, like black cherry and cassis, intertwined with notes of tobacco, liquorice, and a subtle smokiness. The oak aging imparts a long and persistent finish, leaving a lingering impression of warm spices and sweet balsamic undertones.
