Hygrophila corymbosa, also known as Temple Plant or Giant Hygro, is a broad-leaved stem plant with large, lance-shaped leaves. They sit a soft light green on top and can take on a warm bronze-red flush underneath in brighter light. It belongs at the back of the tank, where it fills vertical space and softens hardscape quickly.In your tank it grows fast and forgivingly, making a dense green wall when the stems are planted in small groups. Let them bush together for a jungle or Dutch-style backdrop, or keep them trimmed lower as a midground filler. Divide into small portions of a few stems each. Using tweezers, plant each portion into the substrate, spaced a few centimetres apart to leave room to fill in. Leave the roots undisturbed while it settles, then as stems reach the surface trim the tops and replant the cuttings to thicken the stand.
