Abortion is Healthcare. I created this chainstitched piece after hearing the news of the May 2022 SCOTUS leak and Roe V Wade in jeopardy of being stricken down. I can’t describe the fear and disillusionment of being a person with a uterus here in the United States with reproductive rights slipping away every day. I took some anger out and created this chainstitched and handsewn banner in my studio in Chattanooga using a hand-cranked industrial sewing machine. I’ve decided to donate 50% of the sale price to ARC Southeast, an organization supporting and assisting abortion access across Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Florida. This banner was embroidered onto a heavyweight pink duck canvas fabric, hand cut and sewn to prevent fraying. It has 4 hand hammered gold eyelets for style and ease in hanging. This piece will ship in a flat cardboard mailer.
