Gleneagles Hotel

A very carefully composed conceptual painting of the Gleneagles Hotel painted in gouache. This was a preparation painting for a much larger poster by my father which is currently available. The brush stokes used to render the foreground shadow over the green are loose and expressive. However the hotel and figures have been painted with careful precision. The large cloud is beautifully positioned to provide balance and to take one’s eye into the areas of interest. This is one of 4 conceptual paintings of Gleneagles that were painted larger as more finished poster designs.
