Malvasia Friuli Colli Orientali Zitelle Durí, Meroi
An intense and characterful expression of Friulian Malvasia, combining aromatic charm with depth and structure. The nose opens with ripe pear, quince and orange blossom, layered with dried herbs, honeyed citrus and subtle spice from extended barrel ageing. On the palate it is broad and textured, with a creamy mid-palate balanced by fresh acidity and savoury, mineral undertones. Lees ageing adds complexity and weight, leading to a long, elegant and gently spiced finish. A serious white with both presence and finesse. From some of the best vineyards in Buttrio, the grapes are estate-grown and hand-harvested. Fermentation is carried out using selected yeasts in barrique, followed by 24 months of maturation in barrel, including 10 months on the lees to enhance texture and complexity. The wine is then refined in bottle for a further five months before release. Ideal with rich fish dishes, roast poultry, mushroom-based recipes, aged cheeses or refined vegetarian cuisine.
