2024 Cadre Band of Stones Gruner Veltliner 0.75L

A delightfully unusual combination, Grüner Veltliner in California. With grapes from two vineyards that are both directly exposed to the relentless, cool fog-driven winds from the Pacific Ocean this wine has an electric saline acidity that makes it impossibly moreish. Lime, grapefruit, and papaya practically jump out of the glass alongside ginger, white pepper, and jasmine. Fermented and aged totally in stainless steel with no malolactic fermentation, all done to preserve the purity of the fruit and crisp acidity from those coastal grapes. Combining brightness and freshness with texture and fullness this wine goes to show how incredible the San Luis Obispo Coast is.
