Reckoning with the Unconscious #12
Watercolor on 9" x 12" coldpress paper Original (one-of-a-kind) Some things offer themselves freely without needing to be noticed. A flower in full color. A small kindness. A moment of connection that asks nothing in return. The bee understands this instinctively. It does not gather for itself alone. It participates in something larger, and in doing so, creates something none of its parts could make alone. The ancient Maya kept bees as sacred. The Melipona, a small stingless bee native to the Yucatán, was tended with reverence, understood as a bridge between the human and divine, its honey used in ceremony and healing. That relationship was not transactional. It was reciprocal. This painting carries that same understanding. The hive mind is not about losing yourself. It is about recognizing that your presence contributes to the whole. That care, offered freely and consistently, becomes something sweet and sustaining. That the Tahonal flower blooming abundantly across this landscape does not hoard its color. It offers it. And in that offering, it nourishes everything that comes near. Contact Us for Pricing
