Land Rover Defender Stainless Steel Titan Spare Wheel Carrier: Coming 2027 Description: Our Defender Spare Wheel Carrier is made from 8mm Stainless Steel & requires no modifications, drilling or servicing. Designed structurally around the concept of an I-beam and using thick gauge 8mm material, our Defender Wheel Carrier can hold up to 35 inch tyres. Our Defender Spare wheel carrier uses two linkages to attach the carrier arm to the rear door, instead of the conventional single linkage. This reduces stress and wear of the linkage and improves longevity. We have also used two large rubber door bump stops on the rear side of our carrier arm, spreading the rebound weight more efficiently. Combined with a 4mm rear door attachment plate, rattles, vibrations & wheel bounce have been removed. A unique bump stop housing has been created, this not only helps locate the wheel carrier arm when closing the door, but also removes any vertical & horizontal bounce whilst driving. We have gone with an industrial strength shaft & housing design for the swivel mechanism. Finished with premium, custom self lubricating top hat bronze bushes, that require no servicing. Incase you are unaware, self lubricating bushes actually produce lubricant from within the solid metal bush itself. This shaft & housing design is used in large, heavy duty industrial applications and is extremely strong. All the edge on our Defender Wheel carrier design are meticuously edge linished to a nice smooth radius. This include the entire arm, crossmember bracket, door plate & wheel mount. Adding a smooth edge improves paint longevity & removes sharp corners. Something not found elsewhere on the market. We have gone with a 5 x stud design compared to the conventional 3 x stud design. This means all 5 x holes of the wheel rim have a nut/lug in. This improves the aesthetic of the Defender Wheel carrier. We offer a 5 year warranty for any failure of the shaft, bushes or housing mechanism. This design is used in heavy duty machinery daily with an incredible interference fit tolerance. Finally, we offer an upgraded version of our Defender Wheel Carrier with an optional additional hydraulic bump stop. This bump stop works alongside the standard rubber bump stops and compresses as you close the door, removing those harsh door closes that happen from time to time. These will be for Td5 & Puma Defenders with a late model Rear door. Standard 90 & 110 Hardtops / County station wagons. Specification: 8mm Stainless Steel design.
