Elite Blue Granite Squared - Full Bed Building Stone
Price shown above is per ton (~2,000 lbs) before volume discount (see discount grid below, up to 15% off is applied after you add to cart). Our full bed stone is 3 to 5 inches thick and weighs approximately 50 lbs per square foot. Elite Blue Granite is a medium/dark grey to black granite with some lighter grey to white quartz veins throughout the stone. Shown in pics and the YouTube video, is a beautiful new home using this blend. This Ottawa (Ontario) home was skillfully masoned, and you can really see the contrast and character of the Granite Stone. Also pictured below is a house built in the mountains of West Virginia, using a dark mortar joint. On this home, the trimming of the windows, doors, and chimney were done with a light grey accent brick. Overall, the tones on this home really darken the final look (vs. the first home with light and recessed mortar). COVERAGE ESTIMATES A common planning estimate is 40 square feet of coverage per ton of full bed stone. However, actual coverage can vary significantly from project to project. Factors that affect yield include: Whether your mason trims stones on site Mortar joint thickness (tight, standard, or wide joints) Natural thickness variation within the stone Waste factor based on pattern, layout, and skill level Installation method (e.g., standard mortar vs. dry stack) Because of these variables, coverage can realistically range from ~25 sq. ft. to 50+ sq. ft. per ton. OVERAGE RECOMMENDATIONS Normal/standard overage is typically ±20%. However, you may require significantly more overage if: Your mason will be trimming/cutting extensively You are installing a dry stack (tight-fit, zero-joint) project Your design includes detailed corners or heavy waste-prone layouts If you are unsure how much stone your project requires, we strongly recommend contacting us for guidance so we can help you plan accurately. PALLET WEIGHTS & TRUCKLOAD QUANTITY A standard skid of full bed stone weighs approximately 1 ton (2,000 lbs). A full truckload is typically 23 tons (46,000 lbs). For safe and efficient transport, we reserve the right to palletize skids as needed — this may mean heavier or lighter pallets, or a different pallet count per order. DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS All full bed stone deliveries require that you have appropriate off-loading equipment on site (e.g., forklift, skid steer, telehandler). The driver cannot unload the stone manually.
