Private Rhythms

This artwork is part of a series called 'Domestic Rhythms'. Created in response to the social and psychological transformations brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, Domestic Rhythms reflects on a moment when the boundaries between personal and professional life began to dissolve. Observing changing routines of labour, technology, intimacy, and domestic coexistence, Paresh Hazra began documenting the emotional realities of contemporary life through his distinctive visual language. Rendered in gouache, these works transform ordinary interiors into spaces of reflection where routine, isolation, care, fatigue, and resilience quietly unfold. The familiar rituals of everyday life acquire symbolic weight, revealing the poetry and vulnerability embedded within contemporary existence. Even within scenes shaped by screens and changing work cultures, Paresh retains a sense of warmth, intimacy, and human connection.
