View Religious Gifts Saint Panteleimon — the Patron Saint of Healers Panteleimon (Greek Παντελεήμων — "the all-merciful") was born around 275 in Nicomedia (today Izmit, Turkey) to a pagan father and a Christian mother. He studied medicine at the imperial court of Diocletian, converted to Christianity, treated the poor free of charge — and was tortured and beheaded in 305 during the Diocletianic persecution.
