Built for high altitudes, extreme cold, and the conditions in between. For alpinists, mountaineers, and serious outdoor travellers. 1,200 lumens, 170 metre throw, operates at -40°C and up to 10,000 metre altitude. Three colour temperatures, three power options, one 112 gram headlamp. Max output 1,200 lumens with 170m throw and 7,263cd peak intensity 6 dual-core MCT UHE LEDs (Patent Pending) with up to CRI 98 Three colour temperatures: 6500K cool white, 4500K neutral white, 3000K warm light Auxiliary red light with HIGH and LOW modes Three power options: HLB2500 (included), HLB1500, or 3 x AAA batteries HLB2500 rated for -40°C and altitudes up to 10,000m IPX8 waterproof with HLB2500 fitted, 1m impact resistance 112g total weight; USB-C recharges in approx. 2h 20min Reach, peripheral coverage, and clarity for serious work in the dark. MAXIMUM REACH - 1,200 lumens hits 170 metres. Spot the cairn ahead on a foggy ridge, scan a scree slope above a pre-dawn alpine start, or identify route markers at distance before you commit. WIDE PERIPHERAL COVERAGE - A 41mm light-emitting surface with TrueVision+ unibody optics produces over 100° of flood beam. Your footing, your route, and what's around you all stay lit at once. 94% LIGHT TRANSMISSION - More than 94% of the lumens generated by the LEDs reach the field through the unibody multi-faceted lens. Less waste between the diode and the trail. Six dual-core LEDs. Three colour temperatures. One headlamp. MCT UHE LED SYSTEM (PATENT PENDING) Each of the six emitters carries a high-CRI core and a high-efficiency core. Switching colour temperature switches which cores fire, so you can choose accuracy or efficiency depending on the terrain and weather ahead. 6500K COOL WHITE Long throw, maximum efficiency, longest runtime. The setting for routine trail use, urban night running, and camp. 4500K NEUTRAL WHITE Balanced colour rendering and brightness. The all-rounder for stream crossings, muddy descents, snow-covered trails, and mixed technical terrain. 3000K WARM LIGHT Cuts through rain, fog, and snowfall with reduced back-scatter into your eyes. The setting for high-altitude approaches, whiteouts, and any time visibility gets ugly. Three CRI options matched to three real environments. The HA29 UHE adapts to the conditions in front of you, not the other way round. In high-risk environments where rock textures and ice fractures need to read accurately, CRI 98 gives you the clearest visual perception. Critical for placing protection, judging anchor quality, and reading mountain weather signs. In medium-risk technical terrain like steep slopes and snow-covered trails, CRI 85 balances accuracy with the brighter, more efficient output you need to cover ground. In low-risk, predictable conditions like camp, easy trails, and urban night running, CRI 73 delivers the brightest and longest-running light from the same headlamp body. FOUR REASONS THE HA29 UHE EARNS ITS PLACE IN YOUR KIT All-Weather, Lab-Verified Tested across temperature and pressure extremes, not just rated as "weatherproof". The included battery pack retains the majority of its capacity in extreme cold, where most lithium cells collapse. Multi-Colour Light Source Multi-colour output from a single light source. One headlamp adapts to fog, snowfall, mixed terrain, or routine trail. The same body covers every condition. Multi-Source Power Multiple battery options share a single body: the included rechargeable pack, a smaller rechargeable pack, or off-the-shelf AAA cells. Field redundancy for long expeditions and emergencies. Active Thermal Management A magnesium alloy heat sink and air ducts between the body and battery case keep brightness stable on high output. Run high modes longer before any step-down kicks in. Continuous power down to -40°C. Most lithium batteries are unusable or have lost 90% of their capacity by -40°C. The included battery pack holds at least 80% of its 2,500mAh capacity at the same temperature, verified by NITECORE Lab. That means you keep your headlamp working when summit-day temperatures collapse, when you're crossing a glacier before sunrise, or when you've stopped moving and the cold starts to bite. At ambient temperatures between -40°C and -30°C, the HIGH setting maintains approximately 400 lumens. Plenty of light to keep moving, route-find, and stay safe. Note: TURBO is unavailable when the ambient temperature drops to -10°C or below. This is by design to protect the battery and electronics. Stable output at 10,000m altitude. The included battery pack was reliability-tested at 11.6 kPa low pressure, simulating an altitude of approximately 15,000m, well above the rated 10,000m use ceiling. The pay-off: stable power delivery on every Earth summit. Climbers on Everest, Cho Oyu, K2, or any 8000-metre peak get the same light output as climbers at base camp. No lumen drop as the air thins. The same headroom matters at lower altitudes too. Trekkers in the Himalayas, Andes, Alps, or any peak above 4,000m get consistent output instead of the dimming that affects standard lithium cells in low-pressure environments. IPX8 waterproof and 1m impact resistance. IPX8 WITH THE INCLUDED PACK FITTED DIRECTLY Sudden downpour at altitude, a stream crossing where you lose footing, a tent that leaks in the night. The HA29 UHE with the included pack fitted handles all of it. Continuous submersion-rated per the IEC 60529 standard. IPX6 WITH THE MBC10 BATTERY CASE When running on the HLB1500 or AAA cells through the MBC10 case, the rating shifts to IPX6 (powerful water jets from any direction). Still field-rugged, just not submersible. 1M IMPACT RESISTANCE The special PC plastic body holds up to drops from waist height onto rock, ice, or trail. The kind of accidental knock when it slips off a pack or tent loop, off your head while you bend over to lace up boots, or off a hut bunk in the night. Three battery options. One body. The detachable modular power system is what makes the HA29 UHE genuinely expedition-ready. You choose the battery for the mission. HLB2500 LI-ION PACK (INCLUDED) 2,500mAh, 3.8V. All-weather operation. USB-C rechargeable in approximately 2 hours 20 minutes from a 5V/2A adapter. Standby holds for around 12 months at full charge. Mounts directly into the headlamp body and unlocks the IPX8 rating plus access to the full output range. HLB1500 LI-ION PACK (SOLD SEPARATELY) 1,500mAh, 3.9V. Lighter and more compact, fits in the included MBC10 battery case. USB-C rechargeable. A solid backup pack or weight-saver for shorter outings. 3 X AAA BATTERIES (VIA MBC10 CASE) Alkaline or rechargeable Ni-MH. Available in any village store, mountain hut, gas station, or convenience shop on Earth. Your fallback when rechargeable options run dry on a long expedition. One battery. Twilight to dawn. The included battery pack delivers 17 hours 30 minutes of continuous illumination at the 100-lumen LOW setting. That covers the full 14-hour twilight-to-dawn window with a margin of more than 3 hours. For conservation: Ultralow gives you 8 lumens for 122 hours straight. Five days of around-the-clock low-level light for tent reading, navigating to the toilet at 2am, or basic camp tasks without disturbing your tent-mate. For high-output work: 4h 15min on HIGH (600 lumens, 119m throw) or 8h 45min on MID (300 lumens, 82m throw). Plan your light budget the same way you plan your food and water. 112 grams. Everything included. Total weight with the included pack, mounting bracket, and headband fitted: 112g (3.95 oz). Flagship-level output in a body that disappears on your head. Switch to the smaller pack option and the complete setup drops to 103g. Pull the battery for storage or transport and you're down to 76g for the headlamp, case, bracket and headband. Where every gram on your headtorch matters: multi-day fastpacking, ultralight alpine routes, big-wall climbing, or any setup where you'd otherwise leave a headlamp at home to save weight. Magnesium alloy heat sink and active air ducts. High-output LEDs produce real heat. How a headlamp handles that heat determines whether your 1,200-lumen rating is a brief burst or a sustained output. The HA29 UHE uses a die-cast magnesium alloy heat sink that's both lighter and more thermally conductive than aluminium. Heat moves from the LED matrix into the heat sink and out through air ducts between the lamp head and the detachable battery case. Practical result: output stays stable for longer on TURBO and HIGH, and the body stays comfortable on your forehead instead of running hot. Thermal protection kicks in only when truly needed, keeping the LEDs and battery healthy over the long haul. Dual-button interface designed for gloves and one-handed use. Two buttons, shaped and textured differently so you can tell them apart by feel. MODE switches colour temperature; the Power button handles on/off and brightness levels. POWER INDICATION A short press of MODE while the light is off lights up four indicators showing remaining capacity: 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25%. Know exactly where you stand three hours into a night descent. LOCKOUT MODE Long-press both buttons for 2 seconds and the headlamp flashes 3 times to confirm lockout. Drop it in your pack with confidence. Long-press both buttons again to unlock. Lockout automatically clears 15 seconds after a battery swap. A headband that earns its place on your head all night. Reflective weave on the outer face boosts visibility when someone shines a torch your way. Useful on a busy alpine route, in camp, or on a roadside. Hollow open-weave construction lets air move through the band, so it stays comfortable across long sessions and warmer climates. The structure also wicks sweat away from your forehead during high-output efforts. Snug, stable fit that holds on rough terrain, scrambling moves, and ducking branches on a fast descent. Easy to size with one hand, and gloves-friendly. Four-way multipurpose clip included. Pull the headlamp off the band and snap it onto the included clip. Now it works on: CAP BRIM - Light points where you're looking with zero head-band pressure. Ideal for long pre-dawn pushes when you don't want anything tight on your temples. BACKPACK STRAP - Chest-mounted angle for hands-free task light when you're rigging gear, fixing kit at a belay, or working over a stove. POCKET, BELT, OR GEAR LOOP - Quick stash with the beam pointed away while you're moving between tasks. One headlamp, four sensible places to put it. The stuff sack doubles as a tent lantern. The included Diffusing Stuff Sack is two things at once. During the day it stores and protects the headlamp in your pack. At night, slip the headlamp inside, switch to Ultralow or LOW, and the sack diffuses the beam into soft ambient light. Hang it from your tent ridge with a cord or carabiner and you've got a 100-lumen lantern that runs for 17 hours, or an 8-lumen night-light that runs for 5 days. Two pieces of kit doing four jobs: headlamp, chest light, hand torch, and lantern. Ultralow and red light: the low-impact end of the range. ULTRALOW (8 LUMENS, 122 HOURS) Eye-friendly and just enough to see by. Read in the tent without waking your tent-mate. Move around camp without obliterating your dark-adapted night vision. Five days of continuous runtime if you keep it on the whole time. RED HIGH (15 LUMENS, 29 HOURS) AND RED LOW (5 LUMENS, 90 HOURS) Preserves your eyes' dark adaptation, so when you switch back to white light you're not blinded by your own torch. Also reduces moth and mosquito attraction during overnight stops near water or in summer climates. Plus a red flashing mode for emergency signalling, and SOS/Beacon white-light modes at max output for serious incidents. BUILT FOR THE GROUND YOU COVER High-Altitude Mountaineering The included pack holds power above 8,000m where standard cells struggle. Warm-light mode cuts through snow and ice glare on summit-day starts. Snow Sports & Winter Trekking Operates through ski-touring dawn starts in deep cold. Light enough to forget you're wearing it, bright enough for night skinning. Trekking & Multi-Day Hiking AAA fallback keeps you running on convenience-store cells when rechargeable options run out. Diffuser sack turns it into a tent lantern at camp. Trail & Ultra Running Ultralight enough to forget you're wearing it on race night. Wide flood beam keeps your peripheral vision intact at race pace. TURBO mode is unavailable when running on AAA batteries. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Why does the IP rating change depending on which battery I use? The HLB2500 mounts directly into the body with a sealed interface, giving the IPX8 submersion rating. The MBC10 battery case (housing the HLB1500 or 3 x AAA) is rated IPX6, so the overall rating drops to IPX6 in those configurations. Both handle heavy rain, snow, and stream splashes. Only the IPX8 configuration is rated for continuous submersion. Can I activate TURBO mode with AAA batteries? No. TURBO requires the higher discharge rate of the Li-ion packs (1,200 lumens with HLB2500, 800 lumens with HLB1500). Running on 3 x AAA, the maximum output is HIGH at 600 lumens. TURBO also locks out at ambient temperatures of -10°C and below when using the HLB2500, to protect the cell. How long does the HLB2500 hold its charge in storage? Approximately 12 months at full charge. For long-term storage between trips, charge the pack fully before putting it away and top up every 6 to 12 months. Lithium cells degrade faster when stored fully discharged.
