Itinerary: Day 1: Journey to Mariarano 07:00 AM: with hotel pick-up in Mahajanga before heading toward the spectacular landscapes of Mariarano. Along the journey, enjoy the discovery of vast savanna scenery and the traditional lifestyle of local communities during approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes of travel through Madagascar’s authentic countryside. Before reaching the forest, relax in a beautiful natural jacuzzi surrounded by nature and enjoy a picnic lunch in a peaceful environment. Upon arrival in Mariarano, installation at the ecolodge bungalow before starting an exciting hiking excursion through the preserved primary semi-deciduous forest. Discover endemic plants, observe local lemurs in their natural habitat, and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Madagascar’s untouched wilderness. Continue the experience with a visit to nearby villages and share authentic moments with local communities while discovering their traditions and daily lifestyle. As the day comes to an end, admire a breathtaking sunset before enjoying a unique night walk under the stars to discover the fascinating nocturnal wildlife of the forest. Dinner and overnight stay in the ecolodge bungalow. Day 2: Forest Exploration & Mangrove Adventure 07:00 AM: After breakfast, continue the adventure with a deeper exploration of the local primary semi-deciduous forest. Observe exotic birds, endemic wildlife, and lemurs while discovering the rich biodiversity of this preserved ecosystem. After lunch at the campsite, experience one of Madagascar’s most authentic traditional transports with a scenic zebu-cart ride across remote landscapes toward the estuary. Upon arrival, installation at the bivouac camp followed by a peaceful exploration of the surrounding mangroves, offering beautiful natural scenery and a true feeling of escape. Dinner and overnight stay in bivouac under the stars. Day 3: Sunrise Pirogue Experience & Return to Mahajanga Early in the morning, embark on a traditional pirogue excursion through the mangroves while enjoying the calm atmosphere of sunrise over the estuary. Observe aquatic birds, discover crocodiles living along the river, and experience the authentic rhythm of life of the local communities living in harmony with nature. After breakfast, return to the campsite by zebu cart before visiting the surrounding forest areas one last time. Following lunch, departure back to Mahajanga city in the afternoon. Arrival in Mahajanga by the end of the afternoon with transfer and drop-off at your hotel, marking the end of this unforgettable wilderness adventure in the heart of Madagascar.
