Hannes Bergdoll - Birkweiler Kastanienbusch Riesling 2023

Birkweiler Kastanienbusch Riesling 2023 is a natural wine crafted by Hannes Bergdoll, in the Pfalz region in Germany. This white wine is made with Riesling grapes, grown on the prestigious Birkweiler Kastanienbusch site, one of the most famous single vineyard sites on the Southern Wine Route and has been classified as a Grosse Lage (Grand Cru) by the VDP German association. The name originates from the many sweet chestnut trees. The Kastanienbusch lies west of Birkweiler. The site consists of a valley basin, which is protected to the west from the cool night air currents from the Palatinate Forest by the slopes of the Hohenberg. To the east, the Taschberg, a hill planted with vineyards, forms a natural transition to the village. The vineyards lie at an altitude of up to 320, above sea level and have slopes of up to 40%. This Riesling is fantastic, very fresh and if you can, we suggest to age it a little more to get the best from it
