Jhane’s Take on the Cotton Comforters I chose these cotton comforters for a few very specific reasons—and they’re not trying to be something they’re not. First, they’re 100% cotton and Oeko-Tex certified, which matters to me. The fabric itself is smooth and feels good, though like most cotton products, it arrives with a bit of finishing on it. A wash takes care of that. If you don’t wash it right away, it softens gradually with use. The print is one-sided, which I don’t love in theory. To make that work, I designed every pattern with white integrated into it, so the solid white reverse side feels intentional rather than like an afterthought. The fill is very thin—this is important. It’s not a puffy comforter. It’s closer to a bedcover, which actually makes it extremely easy to live with. It lays flat, doesn’t fight you when making the bed, and gives a clean, crisp look without bulk. That’s exactly why I use them. They’re perfect anywhere I want the bed to look neat and composed—guest rooms especially, and even in my home office, where there’s a bed behind my desk.
