BLACK PLASTIC

This pamphlet serves as a design manual towards the future production of a book on South African Township POP Records. Titled Black Plastic, the project has chosen the period of 1974-1994 for its momentous sense of framing. In this pamphlet one can read the nature of power and resistance under apartheid, in which ‘pop’ can be recognised as having played a significant and necessary role in the shaping of contemporary South African Society.
