The Letterpress Manifesto by Nigel Bents

A collaboration with good friend and ex-Senior Lecturer of BA Graphic Design at Chelsea College of Art, Nigel Bents. Over the 18 years that Nigel brought students to NNP to learn letterpress he became well-versed in explaining its many benefits to a generation of budding designers immersed in the digital world. This sermon gradually took shape in poster form as the jam-packed manifesto you see here. It was patiently typeset (and reset after a large section was accidentally dropped!) and printed in two colours with tight registration – a true labour of love. Printed by hand on our Albion press in an edition of 100. Size 865 x 560mm. Prints come with a complimentary Letterpress Manifesto newspaper. Exhibited as part of New Impressions 2023 at Hamilton Woodtype Museum, USA
