An attractive and increasingly scarce Swiss-made pocket chronograph dating from the early twentieth century, housed in a quality Dennison "Moon" gold-filled case and featuring a beautiful white enamel tachymeter dial with Roman numerals, central chronograph seconds hand and 30-minute chronograph register.This is a genuine mechanical chronograph pocket watch fitted with a high-grade Swiss column-wheel chronograph movement, the traditional and highly regarded system used in quality chronographs before the widespread adoption of cam-operated mechanisms. The movement displays excellent finishing throughout and remains a pleasure to operate.The watch features a tachymeter scale calibrated for quarter-mile measurements, reflecting its original purpose as a timing instrument during an era when motor racing, horse racing and sporting events increasingly relied upon accurate portable timing devices.In May 2026 the watch underwent a comprehensive professional service, the work included complete movement inspection, cleaning, lubrication, demagnetisation, adjustment and testing.
