The meticulously restored wristwatch showcased in today's offering is a classic example of one of Omega's early retro vintage gent's Geneve watches. It circa dates to 1969 where it might have laid next to the Speedmaster Professional that would be headed to the Moon. Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve). According to Omega the name referred to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records. It features a classic early retro waterproof style tonneau case, gloss black dial with baguette markers, wide boy hands, and a high grade Omega handwound movement originally adjusted to two positions. This watch have a very satisfying presence. No date window interrupting the dial. No unnecessary text. No decorative flourishes competing for attention.
