Bolt end, 65cm piece. The Workwear Stripe is part of the Merchant & Mills Winter Classics collection, crafted from a premium blend of 88% organic cotton and 12% linen. Weighing 155–160gsm, this fabric sits slightly heavier than the Luminaire range while still offering the soft, breathable feel associated with Merchant & Mills’ linen blends. This yarn-dyed stripe combines cornflower blue with dark aubergine to create a beautifully understated, timeless design. With stripes measuring approximately 20mm, this fabric is perfect for dressmaking projects including shirts, tops, dresses and skirts, and also works wonderfully for lightweight curtains and home décor. As with many artisan-made Indian textiles, subtle irregularities in the weave may appear. These natural variations add charm and character and are not considered flaws. To help fix the dye, Merchant & Mills recommend washing at 30–40°C with a handful of table salt for the first few washes. 88% Organic Cotton / 12% Linen • 148cm wide • 151gms • made in India Merchant and Mills recommend that you machine wash this fabric at 30 degrees linen cycle with a non bio detergent. Do not tumble dry. Shake out and dry flat. Linen will always seize up after washing but as soon as you start to use/wear it the fibres relax again.
